manipulation beckoned her
she understood this love
it was her false hope that revealed his words as promises
intentionally never meant to be fulfilled
yet she obsessively believed the lies
his charisma, his sexual deviance, his secrets
she delved
her world was complex, understated, she craved true passion
he bound her hand to his
forced her into his darkness
she need not had been bound
her spirit, connected as one to his own, gladly followed
and eventually led
into the darkened sea of sin, immorality, evil deeds
they plunged
breathing in only the overflowing fountain of deepened sorrow
her forgiveness, guarded by Kings
he weaseled until she sliced his soul from his chest
devouring all he was meant to be

the day he confessed his love for her
he lied
she hopelessly created the world she desperately needed to see
to experience, to risk everything for the chance
to know, to feel, to understand heartbreak
her heart ventured unprotected
unable to stay loyal
that day, she never remembers the look in his eyes, the scent of his kiss
stained her hands
that day, she never remembers hearing truth

when faith led her to forgotten despair
she declined to succumb
her will to walk through open doors
nudged her to quicken her pace
a slow death
fast forwarded to new life
a rebirth of heart, love, and desire
for more

walk with me
we’ll travel to the edge
glance below to capture a glimpse of her demise
a journey that murdered dreams
yet her spirit drifts towards the spinning neglect of richness
although she slowly evolved
the inevitable kiss of fate raptured her soul
where she’ll carry him
into eternal blankness
the empty canvas of her flourishing life

Free To Be January 4, 2012

The most severe conquest
I’ve yet to endure,
The battle of hope beneath fears.

An unknown freedom trapped under walls,
Self-preservation for future endeavors
And lies eliminated, my deepest desire.

Strong enough to carry others,
Understanding what’s best for me.

Freeing my former agreements from their commitment to hurt,
Forming new balance,
My soul’s ablaze for relief.

Watch and wonder,
Capture the essence of me as I spill my everything between these lines.

Love me because I’m worth it,
Open your eyes to me because I’ve earned it,
Stay near to me because you want to.

Another great feat under my belt,
And in the days to come
I will be free, to be me.

Climbing Higher January 3, 2012

The decisions I face
Take greater strength than that which I possess,
I must call upon a higher level of consciousness.

He lightly held my face in His hands and whispered,
“My child, call on me. Look not to this world for your purpose.”
Filled with abundant love, my cup overflows.

I’ve traveled through many stages,
Reflecting and holding on to the beautiful life I’ve lived thus far,
I am only as weak as I believe.

I look beyond what my eyes can see,
Remaining faithful and honest with myself,
Removing secrets from my heart.
